Overview

TalkiDoc platform gives patients the access to a wide range of medical specialists without the need of leaving home, while physicians get a virtual clinic with built-in logistics and accounting, where they can contact patients via phone and video calls, provide consulting, prescriptions, medical reports and referrals.

Discovery

Due to the tight road map the teams joined their efforts to cover the discovery needs in the shortest time possible.

With the help of project managers we reviewed the telemedicine solutions around the world and mapped the features

Instead of reinventing the wheel, we were exploring third party solutions like video conferencing, patient files management, etc.

The virtual clinic is a web app which includes the following modules:

Patients appear in waiting room after they have scheduled a meeting, and stay there until the treatment is finished

Includes video call, patient history and files, tools for generating reports, prescriptions, sick leave and referral letters

Patients list with history and medical files per patient

Subscriptions, billing history and reports

Professional profile where physicians add their specialties, services, rates, reception hours, availability and other information

Takeaways

It was quite challenging to design 3 apps in a short amount of time and handle the complicated functional logic across the systems. Some edge cases were found during the advanced stages of the project, and solutions had to be implemented quickly. Changes in technical, business and legal requirements were introduces several times and we needed to quickly adapt to the new circumstances. We were all learning on the go. Everyday collaboration across the teams was essential from early stages of the project.
